Solar Electric Systems on HHSF Homes
Habitat for Humanity San Francisco is committed to building homes with sustainability in mind. Through our participation in PG&E’s Solar Habitat program, solar electric systems will be installed on 50 HHSF homes. PG&E is funding the full cost of the systems, including the 12 homes on De Long Street in San Francisco.
HHSF partners with GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting renewable energy, to install the solar systems using volunteer labor. Not only do the seven completed De Long Terrace homes have solar panels, but an additional 19 systems have been installed on other HHSF homes throughout San Francisco, including HHSF’s first home built in 1996.
