Habitat for Humanity San Francisco

Proposed Lower Eagle Rock Development

Marin County

Habitat for Humanity San Francisco (HHSF) is seeking approval for its first affordable housing development in Marin County. Regional Habitat for Humanity affiliates build homes in nearly every other county in the Bay Area. This proposed development is at an initial stage in a comprehensive approval process.

This specific in-fill building site is near public transportation, schools, grocery stores, and employment opportunities. The homes will be built primarily with volunteer labor, with the supervision of an experienced Habitat construction staff. The homes will also be built with environmentally sensitive materials and techniques.

Proposed Location:

Unincorporated Marin County, near Strawberry, Tiburon, and Mill Valley.

On Eagle Rock Road, at the intersections of W. Knoll Road and Bay Vista Drive.

Partner Family Selection:

Habitat's partner families will be carefully selected from an open application process. HHSF's qualifications are summarized at http://www.habitatsf.org/qualifications.php.

The specific criteria for these homes are still under consideration with input from Marin County. Additional questions regarding Partner Family selection should be directed to Jill Sturm, Director of Family Services, at Jill@habitatsf.org or (415) 869-1500 ext. 102.

Endorsements:

Marin organizations and individuals continue to show strong interest and support in Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to build its first development in the County. Several established local organizations have formally endorsed the Habitat development, including environmental groups that strongly support this well designed, green construction, in-fill homeownership opportunity.
