Peninsula Habitat and Habitat San Francisco to Merge
It’s official! Peninsula Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity San Francisco have announced plans to merge – creating a single Habitat affiliate serving San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula. By streamlining operations and consolidating overhead expenses, both organizations believe they can increase the number of affordable ownership homes built and have a greater impact in the community. Office and Committee Volunteers

Are there non-construction volunteer opportunities available?
There are many other volunteer opportunities outside of a construction site. You can volunteer with Habitat SF in the office as well as through one of our committees.

How do I volunteer in the office?
If you are interested in being an office volunteer, send an email to debbie@habitatsf.org. You can also call our office at 415.869.1500 x102 and leave a message with Debbie Lynch, our Volunteer Services Manager. Debbie will arrange an interview with you to determine your interests and find the appropriate match.

Is there a minimum time commitment for office volunteers?
We generally require a 6-month minimum commitment, unless the work is project-based (i.e. mailing campaigns).

How do I join a committee?
If you are interested in joining one of our committees, send an email to debbie@habitatsf.org. You can also call our office at 415.869.1500 x102 and leave a message with Debbie Lynch, our Volunteer Services Manager. Debbie will arrange an interview with you to determine your interests and find the appropriate match.

What committees can I serve on?

Green Team Committee

Family Selection Committee

Volunteers are needed to help with all steps of the family selection process. Family Selection Volunteers help with applicant outreach, phone screenings, orientation registration, application review and conducting home interviews. If you are interested in participating you may contact Volunteer Services Manager, Debbie Lynch at 415.869.1500 x102 or debbie@habitatsf.org.
