Projects
In 1996, Habitat for Humanity San Francisco built its first home in the City. Eleven years later, 29 homes have been built with the assistance of partner families, volunteers and the community. Through the broad support of businesses and corporations, civic organizations, faith communities and from individuals like you-Habitat has built a strong presence in San Francisco-and now Marin.
Habitat for Humanity San Francisco has built in the following neighborhoods: Outer Mission, Bayview, Hunter's Point, South of Market, Visitacion Valley and the Mission.
Our organization plans to build 40 homes in the next five years-including the first homes in Marin County. The increase is due to an increased focus on land opportunities, generous financial support and a growing base of volunteers. The willingness of volunteers to give of their time will help more families secure safe, decent and affordable housing. We know your investment and efforts will improve the overall life and health of our community.

Our Tithe Program
Habitat for Humanity San Francisco, as an affiliate of Habitat for International, tithes 10% of its unrestricted revenue each year to help build homes across the globe. In the past, HHSF has tithed to Sri Lanka, Guatemala, China, Vietnam and beyond. In April 2007, HHSF entered a three year partnership with Habitat for Humanity Honduras to build at least 50 homes before 2010. As part of this new partnership, HHSF’s tithe will help to purchase land, acquire materials and recruit volunteers in the City of San Pedro Sula. In 2008 HHSF plans to lead a Global Village trip to help build these homes.Click here to learn more about Habitat Honduras.
