Selection Process
How to begin the application process
If you are a resident of San Francisco: Prior to the start of construction of a new development, Habitat for Humanity San Francisco will notify the community that it is accepting applications. Orientations will be held for families who are interested in applying. HHSF does not keep a waiting list.
Please call the HHSF office at 415-869-1500 x105 to put your name on the Habitat SF mailing list, and for the latest information on project start-dates and availability. You can also respond via email.
If you are not a resident of San Francisco: You will need to contact the Habitat affiliate nearest you.
If you're not sure where a local Habitat affiliate might be, use Habitat for Humanity International's search engine to find the names and phone numbers of affiliates in your area, or contact the Habitat International help line at 1-800-HABITAT (800-422-4828). Your local affiliate can give you information on the availability, size, costs and sweat-equity requirements for Habitat houses in your area, as well as information on the application process.
