Volunteer
Habitat for Humanity San Francisco (HHSF) homes are built almost entirely (80%!) by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. At the beginning of the day, volunteers are split up into groups, each led by one of our skilled construction managers. He or she will train you to use any tools you will need for the day, and teach you any skills you may not know.
Even if you have never picked up a hammer before, you will end the day having helped build an integral part of one of our homes. Volunteers can participate in activities as varied as pouring foundation, raising walls, painting, tiling, and electrical work.
There are several ways you can become involved with Habitat for Humanity San Francisco. The best way to learn more about HHSF is to come to our next Habitat Orientation. If you would like to be notified when the next orientation is scheduled, please contact Debbie Lynch, Volunteer Services Manager, at debbie@habitatsf.org.
Orientations are held at the HHSF office (995 Market Street, Suite 800).
